Faces of Sabah - Harmony in Diversity

Kopivosian! Greetings in Kadazan. :-)

The Sabah Fest 2009 was launched at the Ballroom of the Magellan Hotel on the 2 May 2009 and closed at the Sabah Heritage Village on the 11 May 2009 with a traditional oomph! It was a cultural extravaganza involving many of the 32 ethnic tribes of Sabah. I was there for the opening and spent two whole days at the Sabah Heritage Village over the weekend. It was all sweat and a lot of fun with many other equally sweaty (it was SO hot!) professional and hobbyist photographers. The thrill is not only about capturing this exciting event on camera but the opportunity to meet and see the other tribes in their traditional costumes, dancing their dances in their traditional houses and hearing the sounds of their gongs and instruments in one place. It is one of the few times we get to see our natives together - truly Harmony In Diversity.
